DINONYLPHENOL
Dionylphenol is manufactured by the alkylation of phenol with the propylene trimer (nonene) in the presence of ion exchange resin as catalyst. The product is then distilled out of the reaction mixture under vacuum.

Dinonylphenol is a colourless or pale yellow oily liquid with the characteristic smell. It contains mainly 2,4-dinonylphenol. Dinonylphenol is soluble in aliphatic alcohols, ketones, esters and aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is very sparingly soluble in water.
