NONYLPHENOL

Nonylphenol is manufactured by the alkylation of phenol with the propylene trimer (nonene) in the presence of ion exchange resin as catalyst. The product is then distilled out of the reaction mixture under vacuum.

 

 

Nonylphenol is a colourless oily liquid with the characteristic smell. It is the mixture of isomers containing mainly p-nonylphenol. Nonylphenol is soluble in aliphatic alcohols, ketones, esters and aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is very sparingly soluble in water.

On the customer’s special request we are able to supply nonylphenol with the better quality parameters.

 

Nonylphenol is used mainly for the production of non-ionic surfactants. It is also used in manufacturing of epoxy and phenolic resins, as an additive for greases, for manufacturing of agricultural chemicals and in the tyre industry. We supply nonylphenol in the rail or road tank cars made of stainless steel or aluminium and equipped with the heating coils.
